Mightier Than Me is an American Rock band from the heart of the Carolinas that showcases thick harmonies, driving rhythms, and eclectic overtones that are alternative yet contemporary. In only a brief time, the Greensboro natives have gained the attention of fans and music industry experts alike, earning themselves the honor of 2017 Rock Band of the Year by the Carolina Music Awards.
Randy Williams, Wes Frank Norman, Robert Justin Seawell, and Sarah Barker first met in the entertainment tech program at Guilford Technical Community College in the fall of 2015. The four learned about each others' talents over the next few months while performing together in the GTCC ensemble, and began to form their own group within the class. Local musician Charlie Fuson was recruited to the group shortly after and in January of 2016, Mightier Than Me was formed.
With the help of platinum producer TJ Johnson, Dove award recipient Jacob Danieley, and the Larry Gatlin School of Music’s recording facilities, Mightier Than Me’s debut album has been featured on blogs, music reviews, radio stations, and entertainment magazines around the world including Yes Weekly, 107.5 WKZL, Stereo Stickman, AVA Live, Emerging Indie Bands (UK), Banks Radio (AUS), Kingston Radio (South Africa) and 89.5 FM (AUS), to name a few. Rebecca Cullen of Stereo Stickman wrote, “This new project by Mightier Than Me is one that presents listeners with high levels of physical and emotional energy, as well as impressive musical skills, and brilliant songwriting.” Singles from the album “O.L.E.” and “To Be Determined” reached the top ten on the independent music charts in Australia and remained in the top spots for several weeks following the release.
2017 has proven to be a breakthrough year for Mightier Than Me. Following the success of their EP release, MTM traveled throughout the Carolinas and surrounding states, showcasing their distinctive sound to a newfound audience that embraced the showmanship and musical talents of the group. As the band wraps up their show schedule for 2017, they are looking forward to their next big step to establish themselves in the mainstream music industry. Mightier Than Me has teamed with producer Joe Potts and JP Audio Labs to produce their first full-length album, “Information Age,” which is set to release in January 2018.
